Do you want to publish a book? Do it well.
Many of you ask me how to self-publish a book, but I also receive books from people who have done it with quite bad results.
1. I have spent half of my life as a cultural journalist reviewing books, music, movies,… So as soon as I pick up a book I don’t need even five seconds to see if it is well done or not.
2. It is not worth writing in Word and uploading it without any book structure.
3. Spelling mistakes, please… Some have spelling mistakes even in the description of the book, which invites you not to read it.
4. It has to be well written.
5. The cover. Very important. You need a good photo for the cover, because it is the first thing that catches your attention. Never take photos from the internet for your cover; they may be copyrighted and you could end up in serious legal trouble. Don´t use poor quality photographs.
6. Promotion. If they do an interview about the book and the person doing it is not a journalist or a professional, they do not do a good interview, and on top of that they only have ten views, it is as if they have not interviewed you.
7. The description and details of the book have to be well done.
That said, I am not going to sell you a method and I am not going to charge you 2000 euros to publish a book. I can help you self-publish it and all the profits from the sales of the book will go to you. I will be your mentor and help you from start to finish. If you need it, I can also correct your book, layout it, take a photo for the cover, help you with the promotion,… Anything you need.
